BUFC U8 Blacks – Boston to Wembley Challenge
19 May 2020Our Under 8 Black youth football team have set themselves a target of walking, cycling or running 114 miles each (so a total of 1368 miles) to help raise money for two charities – Boston United Community Foundation and United Lincolnshire Hospital Trust.
The team have chosen to travel 114 miles each as this is the distance from Boston United to Wembley stadium – the home of English football. The team thought this was a good choice of challenge as Euro 2020 were due to be this year and so the players and coaches wanted to complete a challenge which reminds them of our national football team.

Coaches Kian and Tommy, along with their 10 talented players will use apps such as the Nike running app to help them track their distances and how far they are away from our goal to being achieved! The team can either achieve their miles in the garden at home or out on their daily exercise.
The team have just eight weeks to complete their challenge, from 19th May to 12th July. Why 12th July? The team chose this date as this is when the Euro 2020 finals would have been played and we would have hopefully seen our national team there winning the trophy – so instead on that day the team can now cheer and celebrate their own team achievement by reaching their goal.
With only eight weeks to achieve their goal, the two coaches and 10 players aged between 7 and 8 years old need your support and help to encourage them to keep pushing and achieve their end goal.
You can do this by making a donation to their chosen charities – they have set a target of £500.00 for both, so a total of £1000.00.
