Boston United advanced youth squad - exit trials

Have you been released by a professional football club? If you are considering your options for next season, Boston United FC are holding an invitation only exit trial for selected youngsters in April.

We are looking for players who have been released from professional and Football League clubs to take part in our exit trial to join the Advanced Youth Squad next season (Under 17 to Under 19 age groups). Boston United FC are currently in the Vanarama National North league, with the football academy offering professional, full time coaching and fitness training.

This invitation only exit trial is by application only – if you are interested in taking part, please contact academy@bufc.co.uk.

This exit trial will give you an opportunity to find out more about the Academy and advanced youth squad, meet the staff and coaching team, and see what we can offer to you: helping you decide what is best for your future in football.

Successful players will be invited to join our advanced youth squad with full time daily professional football training and competitive fixtures, combined with studying towards a BTEC Sports qualification.

Designed for players aged 16 to 19 years old, the programme includes:

-Full time, daily football training: minimum of 10 hours weekly training delivered by fully qualified coaches.
-Full pre-season / season training and nutritional programme.
-Pre-season team building trips.
-Strength & conditioning and fitness training.
-Facilities: 3G and grass pitches, changing room facilities.
-Weekly fixtures and FA Youth Cup: the squad participate in the FA Youth Cup and National League Youth Alliance.
-Education: study with Boston United Sports College – BTEC Sports Course (level 1 to 3 and HND). You can also study Maths and English GCSE / Functional Skills, gain coaching qualifications and more.
-Onsite fitness area, kitchen, chill-out area with TV and Music, free pool table and table tennis.
-Pathway to Boston United first team – we have signed several youth players to the first team this season!

Martyn Bunce, Head of Youth said: “This is a great opportunity for young aspiring players to join Boston United who have been released by professional and football league clubs. We offer a fantastic football package for young, aspiring players.

By seeing these players every day in training, we work hard to help build their fitness levels and physique to use on the pitch, as well as their confidence. Being released from a club can be hard, but it does not mean the end of your football career.”

We want to help players make strides towards a career in professional football – in previous years we have signed several youth players to the first team including Harry Vince (England C Squad international), Taylor Gray, Ryan Pratt and Jack Withers.

“Our players had an excellent season, and because of this they have since stepped up which is great for their development. We are continuously working with players and their individual strengths and stepping them up to our Under 21s and first team allows players to shine.”

The Boston United Academy motto is ‘Honesty, Hard Work, Commitment and Pride’ – our main aim is to help players develop as individuals and progress on the First Team pathway, but also to work as a team.

There are many benefits and potential pathways leading on from our Football and Education programme.

We want players to aspire to play professional football, but their education is very important to us. We want to give them the right tools for other potential pathways including university or scholarships abroad. We offer fully recognised qualifications, so players can pursue a career in the Sports Industry or for their UCAS applications for university.

“We are providing a fantastic opportunity to young players who have been released by a professional club, but still have the ambition and aspiration to progress their football career. We are looking for players who just need the right environment to develop their ability, fitness and technique whilst gaining an education – we provide that environment.”

Players who wish to apply for Boston United Football Academy exit trials, please email academy@bufc.co.uk.

We are also holding non-invitational open trials on Monday 12th February for Boston United’s development squad. To register, visit www.bostonunitedcf.co.uk/youth-development-squads-trials.
