UCT Sound of Musicals

23 February 2017

United Cheer Team recently put on a fantastic show at Haven High Academy on the 4th February 2017, The Sound of Musicals.

The performance included all UCT Cheerleaders, along with the Tower Road Dance Team and Cheer Team, Hawthorn Tree Cheer Team and Haven High Cheer Team, with over 120 people taking part!

The show was a mix of dance, cheerleading, stunt routines and singing to various musical themed songs from Billy Elliot, Jersey Boys, Cats, Annie, Hairspray and many more.

The whole day was a great success, with performers, coaches and spectators giving great feedback. Here are just some of the quotes from the day:

“It was absolutely brilliant, a showcase of local talent showing such a range of diversity”
“Fantastic show! Thoroughly enjoyed it. Well done to everyone involved! Brilliant”
“It was brilliant this afternoon, everyone should be very pleased with themselves”
“So proud of you all, you worked so hard and pulled off a great show”
“It was brilliant! So proud of you all, can’t begin to imagine all the hard work you must of all put in. Congratulations everyone xx”

On the back of the show, it has been wonderful to hear such praise for all that was involved, and we would like to thank everyone who came along to support UCT.

Everyone displayed fantastic attitudes on and off the stage and grew in confidence which was clear to see for those that witnessed both shows.

After the show, several school parents have spoken of how they have seen their children grow in confidence and want to be a part of the UCT squad. We are delighted to have seen some already join us and others starting this term.

We’d like to thank everyone for their involvement, we really appreciate your help! Special shout out to Haven High Academy media students who helped with the programme, lighting, sound system, video and photographs (Grace Palmer, George Bevan, Lewis Edwards, Jacob Pinchbeck and Courtney English). We’d like to give a special mention to Courtney for getting everyone involved and for all her hard work editing the video footage to produce the show DVD. She also produced the programme for the day and mixed a few tracks for the production too. Thanks everyone!
