VACANCY - HEAD OF FOOTBALL DEVELOPMENT
ABOUT BOSTON UNITED COMMUNITY FOUNDATION
Football has the power to change lives — and at Boston United Community Foundation, that's exactly what we do every day. As the charitable arm of Boston United Football Club, we use the game to inspire pride, build confidence and open doors across Boston and the surrounding area, breaking down barriers so everyone can benefit from sport, whatever their background.
We're growing, we're ambitious, and we're looking for a passionate leader to take charge of one of the most exciting roles in football development today.
THE OPPORTUNITY
This is your chance to build a football pathway from the ground up — and shape exactly where it leads.
As Head of Football Development, you'll take the reins of our entire football structure within the Foundation: the Academy, our Elite teams, participation programmes for boys and girls, and our U19 squads, delivered through the Post-16 Education Programme. You'll set the playing philosophy that runs through every age group, build a coaching syllabus that raises standards across the board, and work hand-in-hand with our U23 Coach and First Team management to give talented players a genuine route into senior football.
If you want more than a coaching job — if you want to build a football pathway from the ground up — this is it.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Shape the long-term Football Development strategy for the club, working alongside the Football Development Manager and Community Manager
- Lead, mentor and inspire a talented coaching team, including our Women's Manager, Player Recruitment Officers, Football Development Manager and Lead Goalkeeping Coach
- Take personal charge of our U19 programme — delivering coaching, running player review meetings, and preparing young players for what's next
- Run Talent ID and Trial Days that bring the best emerging talent through our door
- Champion player welfare as Lead Safeguarding Officer for the department
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- UEFA B qualified, with valid FA First Aid, Safeguarding and Player Welfare certificates
- A track record of coaching football and building a winning playing philosophy
- A natural leader — someone coaches want to work for, and players and parents trust
- Bags of energy, organisation and genuine ambition for what Boston United can become
SALARY - £27,000 – £29,000 per annum
HOURS - 35 hours - per week
CONTRACT - Permanent - full time
LOCATION - Boston - Lincolnshire
WHY JOIN US?
You'll join a small, close-knit team doing big things — with the freedom to bring your own ideas, real support to grow as a coach and a leader, and work that changes lives. If you've been looking for a role where football and purpose meet, this is it.
We're committed to being an inclusive and diverse employer, and we welcome applications from people of all backgrounds, identities and experiences.
