Learning Disability Programme

“Since 2006, Boston United Community Foundation has been delivering opportunities for children and adults with disabilities to play sport. The programme has worked in various schools in South Lincolnshire as well as offer a variety of sports coaching sessions.”

Our disability programme currently works with various individuals and organisations to deliver sports activities to people with mental and physical disabilities.

Currently, over 100 people access our disability sessions every week. To help encourage even more people to participate, we established PAN disability groups that allow players with different disabilities to play as one team under the Positive Pilgrims banner. We currently have a number of PAN Disability teams that play in the Lincolnshire PAN Disability league.

Our disability football team has previously won the FA Northern Area Final, reaching the inaugural FA Disability Cup Final. The PAN disability squads at Boston United include players with poor mental health, visual impairments, downs syndrome, cerebral palsy, learning difficulties and hearing impairments. The teams train every week in Boston, and is delivered by our team of qualified coaches.

We hold a weekly football session for people with learning disabilities. For more information, or to get involved please contact Lewis Wright on 01205 364406 or lewis.wright@bufc.co.uk.
