Health, Wellbeing & Inclusion Coordinator

ABOUT BOSTON UNITED COMMUNITY FOUNDATION

Boston United Community Foundation is the charitable arm of Boston United Football Club. We use the power of football and sport to inspire, engage, and improve the lives of people across Boston and the surrounding area. From improving physical health and mental wellbeing to breaking down barriers to participation, we work every day to make our community a better, more inclusive place.

We’re now looking for a passionate and driven individual to join us and help lead our growing health, wellbeing, and inclusion agenda.

THE OPPORTUNITY

This is a genuinely exciting role for someone who wants to combine a love of community with a commitment to health and inclusion. As our Health, Wellbeing & Inclusion Coordinator, you’ll take the lead on designing and delivering programmes that reach the people who need us most — whether that’s people with disabilities, older adults, LGBTQ+ individuals, or those from ethnic minority backgrounds.

You’ll work in close partnership with local health, education, and community organisations, building referral pathways and collaborative approaches that genuinely extend our reach. Every day will be different, and every day will matter.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

•     Lead the delivery of high-quality health and wellbeing sessions across Boston and surrounding areas, ensuring every programme is planned, risk-assessed, and built around the people taking part

•     Design and deliver social inclusion programmes using culturally sensitive, trauma-informed approaches that remove barriers and open doors for underrepresented communities

•     Proactively reach out to seldom-heard groups — including people with disabilities, older adults, LGBTQ+ individuals, and those from ethnic minority backgrounds

•     Build and nurture a trusted network of statutory, voluntary, health, and community partners, creating referral pathways that extend our reach

•     Represent Boston United Community Foundation at strategic meetings and community events, raising our profile in local health and inclusion work

•     Track and report on outcomes, attendance, and diversity data to shape future delivery and meet funder requirements

•     Capture case studies and participation stories that bring our impact to life for stakeholders and funders

•     Champion safeguarding and equalities across all areas of the Foundation’s work

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

Essential

•     Minimum Level 2 qualification in a relevant field (e.g. fitness, coaching, health promotion)

•     At least 2 years’ experience delivering community health, wellbeing, or sport-based programmes

•     Experience coordinating multiple projects and/or managing staff or volunteers

•     Partnership working with health services, local authorities, or community organisations

•     Knowledge of health inequalities and social inclusion issues

•     Experience working with people facing social exclusion, discrimination, or significant barriers to participation

•     Safeguarding children and/or vulnerable adults training

•     First Aid qualification and a full UK driving licence

Desirable

•     Level 3 or higher in fitness instruction, exercise referral, or a related discipline

•     Qualification or training in social inclusion, community development, or equality and diversity

•     Mental Health First Aid qualification

•     Experience working with schools or delivering educational workshops
