HOLIDAY ACTIVITIES AND FOOD PROGRAMME (HAF)

The Holiday Activities and Food programme (HAF) is a Government-funded programme that provides free holiday clubs for reception to year 11 pupils in receipt of benefits-related free school meals in Lincolnshire over the summer, Christmas and Easter holidays.

Benefits-related free school meals are different to Universal Infant Free School Meals (UIFSM). Children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 receive UIFSM in government-funded schools.

The HAF programme is designed to ensure a high-quality experience for children that will result in receiving healthy and nutritious meals and maintaining a healthy level of physical activity.

Children who attend HAF develop a greater understanding of food, nutrition and other health-related issues and have the opportunity to take part in fun and engaging activities.

Children and young people attending a HAF club will also have the opportunity to have fun, meet new friends, socialise, learn new skills, encounter new experiences and gain confidence whilst enjoying happy, healthy holidays.

HAF Summer Camp 2026– Week 1 Round-Up

What a fantastic start to our Boston United Summer HAF Camp!

The children have enjoyed an action-packed first week, making new friends while taking part in a variety of activities including sports, arts and crafts, quizzes, and team games. Their enthusiasm, teamwork, and willingness to try new things have made the week a huge success.

A highlight of the week was welcoming Kim from Kim's Kickers, who delivered two exciting taekwondo sessions. The children loved learning new skills in a fun and supportive environment. We'd like to thank Kim for inspiring our young participants. To find out more about Kim's Kickers, visit: http://www.boston-taekwondo.co.uk/

We also welcomed Lincolnshire County Council, who led an engaging recycling workshop. The children learned about the importance of recycling before putting their knowledge to the test in a fun recycling challenge.

To finish an incredible first week, the children enjoyed a trip to Boston Bowl, where they took part in ten-pin bowling and tackled the Crazy Climb. It was the perfect way to celebrate a brilliant week, with lots of smiles, encouragement, and lasting memories.

A huge thank you to Kim's Kickers, Lincolnshire County Council, and Boston Bowl for helping make Week 1 such a memorable experience. We can't wait for another exciting week ahead!
