Meet the Coach – Owen Johnson

Role: Apprentice Community Coach

From: Boston

Favourite Sport to Coach: Football (but I also enjoy golf, cricket, and rugby!)

Why I Became a Coach: To make a difference in people’s lives through sport.

Proudest Coaching Moment: Winning the County Cup as assistant coach for a girls’ team at my childhood grassroots club, and getting the chance to coach at my beloved Boston United.

Favourite Team: Boston United

What to Expect in My Sessions: Learn new skills, have fun, and enjoy the game!

Best Advice I’ve Received: "It won't happen overnight. But if you quit, it won't happen at all."

Fun Fact: I’m a fully qualified referee, officiating since I was 14!

Most Excited About This Year: Meeting new people and gaining new skills to grow as a coach.

Coaching Philosophy: "Success is no accident. It is hard work, perseverance, learning, studying, sacrifice, and most of all, love of what you are doing."
