Youth Team Pre-Season RAF Trip
A Great Few Days for Boston United U19s at the RAF during Pre-Season
It’s been a fantastic few days for everyone involved at Boston United, with two memorable fixtures, a visit to the Typhoon display, and two excellent sessions led by the RAF’s Physical Training Instructors.
The first fixture saw RAF Waddington take on Boston, before the group played RAF Coningsby in the second match. Both games provided a great opportunity for the players to test themselves, enjoy some competitive football and strengthen the links between Boston United and the local RAF community.
Alongside the football, the groups also had the opportunity to visit the Typhoon, offering a fascinating insight into the work carried out at RAF Coningsby and the people behind the aircraft.
The two PTI-led sessions were another highlight, putting everyone through their paces with a mixture of fitness, teamwork and plenty of hard work!
Reflecting on the visit, one of the RAF PTIs said:
“I just want to say on behalf of the PEd Flt how much of a pleasure it was to have both groups with us over the last few days, they were a credit to themselves and the club.”
A huge thank you to RAF Coningsby for hosting us and to everyone involved in making the few days such a success. We really appreciate the time, effort and hospitality shown to our players and staff.
We’ve put together a selection of photos from the two fixtures, the Typhoon visit and the PTI sessions below.
Thank you to everyone at RAF Waddington and RAF Coningsby for having us — we look forward to seeing you again soon!
