Youth Perspective Vs Woking (15.9.26)

JAMIE RAYNOR pens tonight’s development update from the JCS.

Good evening and welcome to the Jakemans Community Stadium for tonight’s fixture against Woking.

It’s been another busy and positive period for the U23s, with the group continuing to benefit from a varied fixture programme and the opportunity to test themselves against different levels and styles of opposition.

Next week, we face another exciting challenge as we travel to the AVANT Training Centre to take on Norwich City U21s. It’s a fixture that the players and staff are looking forward to, and another great opportunity for the group to experience a high-level academy environment and test themselves against strong opposition.

Our preparations will also soon turn towards the County Cup, as we begin our defence of the competition we won last season.

We will face either Boston Town or Cleethorpes Town in the next round, and the group will be determined to give a good account of themselves and continue our efforts to retain the trophy.

It has also been great to see our younger Academy sides and youth teams kick-off their respective campaigns over the last few weeks. There is a lot of hard work that goes on across the Academy at every age group, and it’s fantastic to see the players now getting the opportunity to put that work into practice in competitive fixtures.

We look forward to watching their progression throughout the season and seeing players continue to develop through the various stages of the club’s pathway.

Thank you, as always, for your continued support of our Academy and U23 programme. Your encouragement is hugely appreciated by everyone involved.

Enjoy tonight’s game. Up the Pilgrims!

Jamie Raynor
First Team Coach/U23s Manager
